Age Limits
- The youngest age for earlobe piercings is set at 7 years, with no exceptions to this rule.
- For any non-earlobe piercings, such as cartilage, nostril, or navel piercings, Kentucky state law establishes age limits for piercings, requiring minors to be at least 16 years old.
- 'Below the neck' piercings are restricted to individuals who are 18 years or older.
- All minor piercing policies necessitate that appointments for those under 18 must be scheduled by calling the desk at 502-473-7400, and parental consent for piercings is required.
Procedure:
- All appointments for children under the age of 10 must be scheduled by the desk, and there are no exceptions to this rule. If you attempt to schedule a minor's appointment through the website, the appointment will NOT be VALID. This is part of our minor piercing policies.
- Each appointment lasts 30 minutes, so it is essential to arrive on time. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, which is why we offer a 10-minute grace period. However, if you arrive after this grace period, we will need to reschedule your appointment in order to respect the time of all our clients as well as our own.
- The appointment includes time for selecting your jewelry, sterilization, aftercare discussion, and the piercing itself. After completing the consent form, a copy of our aftercare instructions will be sent to your email. Please note that we pierce using sterile, single-use, hypodermic needles.
- We offer a wide selection of jewelry options, all of which are biocompatible. Every piece in our store is either implant grade titanium (commonly used for dental implants) or solid 14k - 18k gold.
- There is a $40 piercing fee in addition to the cost of the chosen jewelry, with prices varying based on your selection.
- For fresh piercings, we do not allow the use of outside jewelry.
- In compliance with Kentucky state law regarding parental consent for piercings, we require notarized parental consent before we can proceed with a minor's piercing. PLEASE BRING THIS FORM, FULLY COMPLETED AND NOTARIZED, ALONG WITH YOUR ID TO YOUR CHILD'S APPOINTMENT. If you do not have both the completed release form and your ID, we will not be able to pierce your child.
Considerations:
- All minors must give us THEIR permission to pierce them, as part of our minor piercing policies. We want young individuals to understand what is happening to their body and how to care for their new piercing. Our goal is to ensure that every piercing experience is positive and safe; therefore, we will not force a child to be pierced if they don't want it, even if you, the parent, wish for it. However, there is no cancellation fee if we begin the process and they decide not to proceed with the piercing.
- We recommend avoiding submerging any fresh piercings in lakes, pools, oceans, hot tubs, etc., for at least 6-8 weeks. Please plan accordingly if you engage in any water activities.
- Traveling can cause fresh piercings to swell. Changes in altitude while flying or shifts in humidity can affect how fresh piercings behave compared to when you're at home. If you have plans for vacations or work trips, we advise considering parental consent for piercings and getting pierced after your travels.
- For kids UNDER 10, it’s essential to schedule appointments Tandem (with two piercers), which means you MUST call the desk to schedule.
