Regarding COVID-19 as it relates to tattoos and piercings in KY.
The Kentucky Tattoo and Piercing Association members would like to assure the community that each associated shop is taking every possible safety precaution advised by the local health department and the CDC during this time, to ensure everyone has a safe and positive experience.
The updated 2019 Kentucky Tattoo and Piercing regulations require all state licensed artists to be blood bourne pathogen trained and certified. This is a strict professional hygiene practice that ensures each client and artist is protected from the spread of various diseases and pathogens. Additionally, the KY health code requires all permitted shops and artists to sanitize work stations after each client, and surrounding areas daily. Hand washing is performed before, during the procedure when protective gloves are removed, and after each client. We will be taking every extra measure possible to keep everyone healthy and happy.
We encourage you to reach out to your shop or artist with any concerns or questions prior to your appointment.
If you or a person in your household should feel sick, have respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath, have a fever, or dry cough: Please call your artist to reschedule your appointment. Monitoring your own health and regular hand washing helps keep both our shops and other clients clear of illness during this time.
Thank you for your continued support of professional and licensed tattoo shops and piercers.
